A successful fusion of nature's superlative strength with modern scientific insight and technology has led to a dramatic progress in the creation of skincare products.
This philosophy is the driving force behind the development of AURAGE products.
Towards a New Dimension in Ageing Care※1.
To fulfil this ambition, AURAGE has applied nano technology to the Cat’s Claw Vine extract "AC-11"※2, and focused on "Progeline™"※3 – a component that was created based on our current understanding of the ageing mechanism.
We aim for an ageing care that goes beyond the existing dimension, by using new combinations of berries that have attained unrivalled capabilities through their own evolution.
The beneficial ingredient "AC-11"※2 that was extracted from the bark of Cat’s Claw Vine, is encapsulated in tiny (1/1000000 of 1 mm) capsules made from nano-sized phospholipid.
The phospholipid that forms the capsule material is also one of the components that constitutes our body's living cells, such as the skin. Due to its compatibility with the skin, it is highly permeable※4, which helps it to work efficiently as it integrates well into the skin.
A woody vine that has been used by native inhabitants of the Amazon for over 2000 years, the Cat’s Claw Vine is named after the tendril at the base of its leaf, which possesses hooks that look like a cat's claws. A Swedish researcher, Dr. Ronald Pero, discovered the benefits of this plant from among the plants in Amazon, where approximately 1/3 of all plant types on Earth can be found, and it has been used in health foods and cosmetics since its introduction to the world. Putting the bark through hot water extraction and concentrating the result produces "AC-11"※2, an ingredient which helps skin feel firm, plump and appear translucent.
Researchers have been relentlessly seeking to understand the mechanisms of ageing, so as to answer the question: “How do humans age?” As a result of this intensive research, "Progeline™”※3 was formulated.
This ageing care※1 ingredient was created based on new information on how ageing causes a loss in suppleness of the skin, and what processes bring about the onset of ageing signs.
This anticipated ageing care ingredient, which won a gold medal at the world's largest annual cosmetic ingredient exhibition "in-cosmetics" in 2012, is part of the AURAGE formula.
A selection of berry types are picked from among those growing in harsh environments, such as the Arctic and mountainous areas, and the benefits of these berries are recognised scientifically and chemically. A well-balanced blend is formulated for effective ageing care※1, by utilising the characteristic component possessed by each berry.
① Chasteberry (Vitex Agnus-Castus Fruit Extract: Skin Protecting Ingredient)
Revered since Ancient Greek and Roman times for addressing women's unque concerns, this deciduous shrub is native to the Mediterranean coast and Central Asia. Also known as "Monk’s Pepper" for its spicy, pepper-like aroma, its fruit extract provides moisturizing benefits that help hydrate the skin and refine its texture.
② Sea Berry (Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract: Skin Protecting Ingredient)
An orange-colored plant of the Elaeagnaceae family that grows wild across the vast Eurasian continent. Believed to have existed for more than 200 million years, it is considered one of the most ancient plants in the world. Thriving in regions with extreme temperature fluctuations, from frigid climates to arid deserts, it is naturally rich in polyphenols and is often referred to as a “Protect Berry.” Its extract helps defend the skin from environmental stressors such as dryness while enveloping it in lasting moisture, leaving the skin hydrated and comfortably protected.
③ Lingonberry (Vaccinium Vitis-Idaea Fruit Extract: Skin Protecting Ingredient)
A resilient berry that thrives in the harsh, acidic soils of extreme regions such as Canada, where winter temperatures drop to −30°C. Its fragrant, ruby-red fruit is celebrated as a nutrient-rich superfood. Exceptionally rich in resveratrol and abundant in vitamin C, arbutin, and essential minerals, the fruit extract helps protect the skin from environmental stressors, including dryness, while addressing dullness*5 to reveal a more radiant, luminous complexion.
④ Blackberry (Rubus Fruticosus Leaf Extract: Skin Protecting Ingredient)
Blackberries refer to the European wild raspberries harvested in Southeast Europe. This cold-hardy plant from the rose family produces large, juicy fruits ranging from deep red to black. While the fruits are rich in vitamins, minerals, and polyphenols, AURAGE harnesses the extract from the leaves, traditionally used in herbal teas. Abundant in tannins and ellagic acid—types of polyphenols—this leaf extract helps tighten the skin and, through its moisturizing effect, promotes a clear, radiant, and luminous complexion.
⑤ Bilberry (Vaccinium Myrtillus Leaf Extract: Skin Protecting Ingredient)
Bilberry, the wild variety of blueberry, grows in cold regions and is renowned for its fruit, which contains anthocyanins at levels reportedly up to five times higher than those in common blueberries. While its aromatic leaves are traditionally brewed as herbal tea, its high polyphenol content has drawn significant attention from botanists. The leaf extract is abundant in flavanols, catechins, and arbutin, helping to maintain a clear, radiant complexion free from dullness*4.
